Saturated Fats

Saturated Fats Are Necessary for Good Health
So Can Eating Diet Foods with No Saturated Fats Be Healthy?

Many of us, doctors and laypeople alike, were taught that eating red meat and fat in our diet, and especially saturated fats, is to be avoided.  We still hear that eating foods with lots of saturated fat causes all sorts of problems, including high cholesterol, heart disease and weight gain.  However, if you carefully study the research, you will see that it shows the opposite to be trueSaturated fat is a vital nutrient and is necessary for good health

Proper Nutrient Absorption Requires Dietary Fats

In order for your body to properly use fat-soluble vitamins, you need to eat the fat that nature has provided in our food.  Calcium, too, needs fat for proper absorption.  So we want to suggest that you eat full-fat dairy foods and eat your calcium-rich leafy green and other vegetables with  butter and cream, and also eat salad with oil-based dressings, not low-fat diet dressings.  If you eat these fatty foods, you will increase your absorption of the vitamins and minerals contained in those salads and other vegetables, which will not only help you be healthier, but may also help you to lose weight.  It seems that many people are eating too much because the foods they are consuming in their diet are not providing them with the nutrients that they need.
