The Healthy "Stop Eating Diet Food" Diet

The diet that we are recommending may have to be altered for each person.  Just because a certain food is high in certain nutrients that your body needs does not mean that it is the right food for YOU personally to include in their diet.  You may have to experiment with various foods to find the right ones for you. 

Make Sure You Don’t Eat Foods That You Are Sensitive or Allergic To

In addition, more and more people are becoming allergic to common foods, like dairy, wheat, corn, soy, eggs, citrus and more.  However, there are certain principles that if you follow them, we think you will be better off than if you eat a lot of "diet" foods.

Eat Healthy Whole Foods in Your Diet

One of the most important things to do if you want to have a healthy diet is to eat only (or as much as possible) whole, minimally process foods that are nutrient dense.  This means cooking from scratch, eating oranges instead of drinking orange juice, eating whole grains instead of white flour, using small amounts of minimally processed sweeteners like honey and maple syrup instead of white sugar, and also eating the right kinds of fat in your diet. 

Healthy Foods Means Organic Foods

This also means searching out organic foods grown by farmers who take care of their soil and their animals in a more traditional way. Research has shown that organic foods contain more nutrients and fewer pesticide and heavy metal residues.  Unfortunenately, even organic foods show some contamination, probably from pesticide drift and/or contaminants contain in the water, but the levels are much lower than with conventional foods.
