FAQs Stop Eating Diet Food
I’m Not Losing Weight, or My Weight Loss is Very Slow. Help!
Well, first of all, losing 1 – 2 lbs per week is a healthy goal for most of us. Experts say that when you lose much more than that, you may make your metabolism slow down and you could stop losing weight even though you are eating less food and fewer calories! That’s because if we lose too much weight, our bodies are afraid we will starve, and start conserving the food we are eating. That’s also why we recommend eating 3 meals per day – are you remembering to do that?
Second of all, did you eliminate ALL MSG and ALL Polyunsaturated Oils from your diet? If not, you need to take a look at your diet and make sure and get rid of these polyunsaturated oils and packaged food at your house, and stop eating out for now. When you do eat outside the home, try to avoid sauces, soups and salad dressings – these are usually loaded with sugar and MSG.
Third, are you exercising? Try to get 45 to 60 minutes of exercise – even walking is great – 4-5 days per week.
Fourth, did you add any of the super foods to your diet? You may be overeating because your body is still searching for nutrients that are not the food you are consuming. Try having a green drink every day, along with cod liver oil, liver capsules and some green tea or a green tea supplement.
And lastly, look at the amount of carbohydrates you are eating; you might need to cut back. Remember, you should be having 1 small serving per meal (like 1 slice of bread or ½ cup of brown rice). If you are getting the right amount of fat in your diet, it should be easier to limit yourself to these portions of complex carbohydrates, as well as stay away from the refined carbohydrates like white pasta, bread and sugar.
When you have lost all the weight that you want, it’s OK to add back in a little more of the complex carbohydrates, and to increase portions slightly. The more you eat good, nutrient-dense foods, the more your body will tell you what and how much you need to eat! This diet and eating healthy traditional foods including old-fashioned fats is a good diet to follow in order to be healthy all your life, in our opinoin!
